PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Welcome to PEXSISEN Elementary!

I am thrilled to welcome each of you as members of the learning community of PEXSISEN Elementary. Our school name was gifted by the Songhees Nation and means “the opening of hands”.  What a wonderful gift indeed that we begin our adventure together with this vision at the forefront… hands open, welcoming each other to this beautiful place and time. This will be our second year together and we have much to celebrate.  We opened our school in 2022 with 340 students and this coming fall we will open with 420 students.  It has been a time of amazing growth, not only in population but also in our understanding of our school culture and beliefs.  We have created a vibrant, caring school community and we are so proud of everyone who has been a part of the process.   It has been an incredible journey and we look forward to the adventures yet to come.  Looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones in the fall.  That is a delightful thought indeed.
